You can have all this served to you in a boat or yacht by a dedicated waiter who will be there till your food last. This is Dubai and you have to cater for the elite. As this is a strictly take away and delivery restaurant, the food here is served in disposable boxes seamlessly designed to keep the food hot even if they are delivered or taken away at locations far away from restaurant.
Koussei Kurabaj, owner of Salt Bay stated to Gulf News “My Aqua Pod idea is unique and is the first in the history. This all new experience in the heart of Dubai is meant to mesmerize travellers and guests who want to see and experience new things “
Fady Georges Enkiri who is operations manager at Salt Bay stated that there is a lot to choose from within the menu. Food is delicious and fresh. There are burgers both for meat lovers and vegetarians as well as waffles, sea food and drinks.
‘Salt Bay’ is ready to serve its customers
There are two modes with which you can order on Salt Bay. A customer can order by raising and showing a flag which indicated that he/she wants something from Salt Bay. Another way, is to approach the boat on small mine crafts and order there and then at the boat
“We felt a strong need to open a restaurant in the middle of the sea as there were a lot of comments on how it was difficult to get food there. People had to go to the shore and then come back to their boat. Believe me it was very difficult and time consuming. All we wanted was to ease the process and here we are” Enkiri added
The director operations and F&B Fady Georges Enkiri added that “the layout of the kitchen is made in such a way that even if the sea is rough and the weather is turbulent, everything in here will remain safe and fine for guests to consume. Even employees and chefs feel great because a major downside of working in such a place is rough weather and turbulence, but we are better off because of our unique and creative design. It’s always team work and we always ask our captain whether to go for it or not”
Salt Bay’s has taken permissions from Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) to keep the restaurant between Dubai Lagoon in close proximity to Kite Beach and nearby areas. Under these permissions they are also authorized to make deliveries to The Palm Villas and The World Islands.
Salt Bay’s official business hours are from 12pm to 9pm daily. As it is built on a small ship, there is no indoor or outdoor dining place but great food is available for delivery and takeaways. Presence on Social media websites is inevitable these days and Salt Bay has clung to that pretty well. The website and social media platforms are updated every to keep potential customers informed regarding the whereabouts of the pod’s daily location.
